The Festival of Chariots — one of the oldest and most joyous Vedic celebrations, bringing Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra through the streets of Edmonton.
Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra ride their sacred chariots through downtown Edmonton accompanied by kirtan, dance and prasadam.
Completely free for everyone — families, children, and people of all faiths. Come and experience the joy of this 5,000-year-old tradition.
Thousands of plates of free vegetarian prasadam (sanctified food) served to all attendees throughout the day — no registration needed.
Simply by seeing the Lord on the chariot, one can attain liberation. Even the birds and trees that witness this festival are purified.
